Patagonia Express were excellent! The staff were lovely and very professional. When we got to the check in they checked us in very quickly, sorted out our luggage for us and even gave us a cup of tea! The boat itself was great - very big and comfortable. They played some movies too, which was a nice way to pass the time. On our way back, the sea was very choppy and several people were sea sick. The staff were great though and attended to everyone, giving them things to help with the sickness. Overall, we were really impressed with the service and would absolutely recommend it.

The boat is excellent for travel to Gillies and Lombok. Crew smiling and helpful. The closure of Benoa harbour I think was unnecessary as I believe the sea conditions were good having 40 years experience as boat captain. The angst experienced by passengers having to return to Bali by ferry clearly showed the huge difference to using ferry! Plus having to go to Padang bay caused additional travel and time. The company provided coach travel to Lembar on Lombok that was appreciated despite the inconvenience of the harbour master closing Benoa harbour.

Must start this review by saying that this can't be a true representation of Patagonia Express service. The fast ferry couldn't operate because of high sees i.e. conditions outside of Patagonia control. However the company made its best to provide an alternative means of transport and we chose to take it rather than get a refund. We were escorted from GiliT to Bangsal in Lombok by small glass-bottom boat; then by bus to Lembar Port and from there on the public ferry to PadangBai; finally they drove us to Ubud center where we needed to arrive. The worst part of the trip was the public ferry which is miles away from the service provided on a normal Patagonia fast-ferry. The boat is overcrowded and we had to stay on the roof-top getting roasted in the sun for the length of the trip plus waiting time to leave (in total close to 6 hours). The total trip took the entire day and we were exhausted. Only note that maybe could have been handled better was the communication part; we got an email a couple of days before the trip but I believe it could have given much more detail about the plan.

Due to high seas, our boat was a slow public ferry from Padangbai to Lembar Lombok. We were told that the pick up from Ubud would be at 5.30am, but it was over an hour late. From Lembar we were transported to Bangsal by a bus which was a little bit run down...The door of the luggage area opened during the drive and someones backback fell down the road. Luckily some random old man with the scooter behind the bus noticed that and stopped the bus. From Bangsal it was an easy and quick boat trip to Gili Air approx at 6pm. All on all it was a long day...but it ended happily

Wir haben die Überfahrt von Padang Bai zu Gili Air und dann ein paar Tage die Fahrt zurück bis Benoa gemacht. Das Boot an sich ist etwas größer, schön ordentlich und sauber. Die Mitarbeiter sehr nett. Die Hinfahrt verlief problemlos, alles schön ruhig. Die Rückfahrt allerdings war ein Höllentrip... Das Meer war unruhig und die Fahrt wurde auch immer holpriger. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass der Kapitän durch mehr Geschwindigkeit alles ausgleichen wollte oder selbst die Fahrt schnell hinter sich bringen wollte. Auf jeden Fall wurden dann immer mehr Kotztüten verteilt, die auch dringend benötigt wurden. Die Mitarbeiter haben sich aber sehr lieb um alles Seekranken gekümmert.

One of the largest and newest boats we saw. Fantastic email communication when booking. Great service, fast clean boat. Bumpy ride both ways due to weather so seasick tablets a must if you need them. Good shuttle pick up and drop off in new, clean air conditioned mini buses. Only negative was the departure time from Gili Air on our tickets was 11.30 so we arrived at the harbour at 11 to be told it was actually 12.30. Meant a lot of sitting around waiting when we could have stayed at out villa longer. Would definitely recommend and use Patagonia again.

Friendly staff. We had a very rough sea when coming back from gili t to bali but the captain managed well and we had a fun ride on the sun deck. More or less on time. The driver who should have driven us to canggu drove another way to drop off other people first. This was quite annoying as the drop off point was finns in canggu and not somewhere else. We lost 30mins. Unpleasant. The boat ride was good though. New ship, felt safe all the time.

The sea was a kinda rough this day and the boat was shaking a little bit and many passengers got sea sick. But I dont felt in danger at any time, since its normal that a vessel is moving in the waves at rough conditions. I dont understand all the panic comments for the fast boat transfers to the Gili islands.

Reliable transportation to Gili islands. The company also gives the possibility to be picked up at some specific locations to the harbours. Employees were also really helpful and the travel smooth despite of some heavy waves. Would definitely recommend this company! Due to illness we had to leave the island one day early. The staff were very helpful and more than happy let us change the date with only 1hr notice. When we got to Padang Bai we had originally booked to have transport to Ubud but because this was scheduled for following day there wasn't any space. The team went out of their way to find some transport to get us to Ubud without any extra charge, we were very grateful for their excellent customer service. We were also a bit worried as had read horror stories about different crossings but had no problems with Patagonia, the boats are quite large and very solid, you do feel very safe.

After reading lots of bad review about boat trips to Gili I was delighted to find that with Patagonia everything went smoothly. We got picked up from Ubud centrally and It all ran to schedule, they have the biggest boats I saw doing this trip which was air conditioned and they have a film on for entertainment. The journey itself from Pandang to Gili T took us around 2 hours which was quicker than we expected. I would definitely travel with them again.

They last minute arranged a pickup for me in Canggu to Benoa Harbour. On the way back to Padangbai they even had a shuttle service all the way to Ubud. The boat itself was excellent, quite new boats. There are seats inside with AC and an upper deck. Great service.

We recommend at anytime to use pentagonia express as safety is in top, comfortable seats , easy and price competitive tickets online. The luggage was organized well. We had a smooth trip from Bali to Gili Air T/R and we felt safe, departured on time and could even go to the sun deck . I would for sure use pentagonia express again . I saw other companies in small old boats that I would never enter .

We were picked up in Ubud on time. We made it with a lot of time to spare at Padang Bai. They staff unloaded our bags and held them while we waited for the boat. Please note that once the boat is coming, you must walk your own luggage down to the pier. It is not more than a few minute walk. Their staff will help you if you are struggling. The boat was on time and appeared new and clean. You have the option of sitting below deck where there are comfortable seats, and a movie (playing in English), however you cannot hear the speakers everywhere. Below deck has air conditioning that works well. There were plenty of seats. They serve drinks and snacks for a fee during the crossing. Prices are not ridiculous. We got off at Gili Trawangan. The deboarding process was easy. The boat lands on the beach. The stairs seem to be angled a bit funny, but I guess this varies with the height of the tide. You must wait on the beach for your bags, which are taken off for you after all passengers have gotten off. Pretty seamless operation. Warning: there can be a lot of people at Gili T on the beach. It’s a little disorientating at first. The horse buggies are right outside this terminal part. The return trip takes 3 hours as you must first go to Gili Air and Lombok to drop off/pickup passengers. At Lombok - everyone must sit below deck so the harbourmaster can count passengers. This, I assume, is a safety measure to avoid over-crowding on the fast boats. I recommend Patagonia Express.

Vessel is large, modern and comfortable, very clean including toilets, sundeck upstairs for those who don’t want air conditioning. The trip was quick, felt very safe at all times. What really stood out was the staff, after a mix up with the pick up the next day staff fixed everything via email, very attentive, once at the port, the staff there were fantastic, helping with bass and even escorting me to the other company who does onward to Lembongan. I would recommend this company to anyone, I chose it because it’s reviews are good in comparison to the others and it didn’t disappoint!

Patagonia Express provides one of the best boat transfers I've ever used in Southeast Asia. Very clean and comfortable new boat, and loved the sun deck. It definitely is a much better way to travel than the smaller fast boats which will be super cramped. I used Patagonia from Padang Bai to Gili T and return to Benoa (airport). I also arranged for shuttle pick-up both ways and to the airport and I was pleasantly surprised how efficient and smooth the service was literally end to end. Thumbs up to Patagonia Express.

We choose Patagonia over the other fast boats because it has the biggest vessels which in my opinion can handle bad weather conditions better. Not only the vessels are as big as you can see on the website, but also equipped with flat screen where you can enjoy a movie during the 2-3 hours cruise to Lombok/Bali, free WiFi one board, aircon and a sundeck . The crew is very professional, kind and very organised. Patagonia is far better than the other companies I saw at the port, the vessels are bigger and as per my experience they were always on time.

My experience with Patagonia Xpress was excellent. The boat left Benoa Harbour on time and the trip to Gili T was faster than i thought it would be. The service from the crew was great and the ride was quite smooth and enjoyable. The only issue i had was the smell of fuel in the cabin, i chose to sit in the rear part of the interior cabin, behind the centre doors and at times the smell was quite pungent. Extra ventilation of the cabin air is something i think the vessel needs.

The way to gilli trawangan was perfect. Very friendly staff, excellent service. I only had issue with my return: we left at 12 from gilli T,than we had to stop at gilli air,than lombok,so we arrived at 3 pm in padang bay. Was a lomg 3 hours journey,which i recon is too long. I know this is probably the way it is,but would have been better to let your customer know first,before they purchase the ticket and also,would be even better if u can manage no to stop too long in gilli air,or not stop at all. Maybe u can have a small charter boat that can take care of the guests u hv there and bring them to gillli trawangan so u won’t loose too much time going there for few guests only. I understand u hv a lot of guest in lombok,but the ones in gilli air were not many. But again,not a big problem doh: a very good boat and excellent service. Thank you

Patagonia Express is a model of customer service that we used to go from Ubud to the Gilli islands. I was pleased to receive prompt replies to all my email requests for information. The responses consistently answered my queries, which I found very reassuring. The trip was easy to book, thanks to the efficiency of their website. We took the ground transportation from Ubud, which was well managed and comfortable. We never had to touch our luggage once. On arrival at Padangbai, we were warmly greeted by several uniformed staff who took care of our luggage and ensured that we made it to the boat when it arrived. In the meantime, we were able to enjoy a leisurely coffee in one of the local restaurants while we waited. The boat itself was clean and comfortable with recent movies playing on the screens. The crew was very courteous and wanted to ensure we had a comfortable passage to Gili T. The vessel left on time and arrived on time. We got the shuttle pick up from Ubud with a few other passengers, the car was nice and clean and new and the driver friendly. Great experience crossing to Gili Air from Pandangbai with Patagonia Xpress. They picked us up on time in Ubud and drove us down to the port. We had a little time before we boarded so we walked around. Our bags were taken on the boat for us, they have some food and drinks for sale. I was really impressed with the service. Pick ups were on time, private car. 50k per person for a pick up from the hotel, and likewise 50k to drop off at your hotel in seminyak. i paid 350k per person each way. boat rides were safe and staff were very friendly. It was a nice steady trip. Because it is a big boat/ship it's not rocky like the smaller speedboats but still very fast and safe. Downstairs airco and screens where you can watch a movie (difficult not to watch it :). It's possible to buy chips and drinks on board or at the harbour in padang bai where a lot of sellers of food and other merchandise are waiting. I would advice also to check the sundeck. Very nice view.

On our way back, instead of stopping at Padang Bai we had to stay all the way down to Benoa because of the low tide. A free shuttle service was included to Seminyak where we were staying. We enjoyed the trip in the airconditioned area watching a few movies. They predicted the trip to be a bit bumpy because of a rough sea and we all got a free sea sickness pill.

Patagonia Xpress delivered on their promise. We were promptly picked up where they said they would pick us up. The size of the boat helped cut through most of the waves making for a pleasant and relatively smooth ride over. Unfortunately, the boat is unable to dock at Gili Air due to the harbor being under construction, however they organized a public boat transport from Lombok to Air at no extra charge. All in all, it was a good experience, especially after reading some of the horror stories of others who have taken differing fast boats. Additionally, the fare was very reasonable. We will be using their services again.

Friendly & experienced crew during the trip. However the pick up and drop off service from the hotel has the room of improving. Understand that the pick up and drop off service is shared service, it will be better if the company can advise on the certain pick up time (+/- 15 mins) rather then give customer pick up time with one hour gap (eg. 6:30am -7:30am). It is a time wasting for those who are punctual and silly wait at the hotel lobby since 6:30am. for the drop off service, it only drop us at seminyak area, it will be better if it can drop us at the hotel lobby.

The journey itself was smooth and very comfortable. Everything ran to schedule and it was obvious where to go. It was very difficult however to book the tickets because we had to try 5 times before the website accepted our card, and we were told by the staff at the counter on Gili T that Patagonia Xpress would not be going to Padang Bai on December 8th. The head office later confirmed that the service was running but this was confusing.

I would recommend this company to anyone going to one of the Gili Islands. Everything went as planned; from the pickup point until our destination at Gili Trawangan everything was perfectly organisaed. I tried 2 other companies before when I went to the Gili's but none of them matches the professionality of Patagonia Express. Excellent customer service (small issue with website meant I had to call the office in Kuta to organise a drop off to Ubud) - Ayu spoke perfect English and was very helpful. I was very nervous about the boat trip as I had heard/read many horror stories of rough seas and lax safety on boats. I couldn't have been more at ease onboard Patagonia Express - big modern boat with all appropriate safety equipment. We had a rough sea crossing but this was made very bearable by being on a bit boat.

I had no assistance with my luggage thank fully another patagonia client helped me load my case onto the local boat and also assited me with boarding.? Where were padagonia staff Same happened at lombok until i was up near the jetty then the locals tried to take my baggage down the jetty for 200 hundred thousand lucky i have been to the island many times and knew this was a rii off. Why was ther no help from patagonia staff ????? The whole service was very professional, staff were great and clean boat with air con, movies and wifi, drop off, can't really go wrong. It was really good value for money and we would definitely travel with them again. My only concern was on the way back from Gili T to Bali, the stop at Bangsal - although it didn't affect me I was concerned about how the people had to board the boat. I would worry that my elderly relatives would not be comfortable boarding the boat this way. My service from Bali to Gili T return was great though, don't have any negative feedback at all!

Great service at a very competitive price! Large boat which allowed for a comfortable journey and made us feel safe compared to all the smaller vessels that travel between Bali and the Gili Islands. The F&B selection on board could be improved (only crisps and a couple of different drinks available) but overall I'm very happy we chose Patagonia and would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

Five of us enjoyed our first trip to Gili T travelling on the Patagonia Xpress and we wouldn't choose to travel sny othrr way. Brand new, large boat, eccellent facilities, comfy seats, effective air conditioning, and staff kept passengers informed with announcements throughout the trip. Took the Patagonia express to Gili air from Benoa harbour and must say it was a pleasant trip. I felt very safe and comfortable in the large air conditioned boat that handled the rough seas very well. The only downside was the travel time due to the various stops.

My ticket said my boat was to leave Gili Air at 12:30. At 11:45 I arrived at the Patagonia Express desk at the harbor. No one was there but I waited. At 12:30 after seeing no one at the desk, from the company or other travelers, I asked some men at another company’s desk if they had seen any rep’s from PE. I showed them my ticket and they immediately got me on a boat that had already pulled out of the harbor. I believe they also called ahead to the next boat to have them wait for me. Thankfully the big PE boat was waiting and I made it to Benoa Harbor just fine. But the communication about where to meet for my boat out of GA was unclear and thank god the men from the other company (I wish I knew the name) took care of me.

On the trip out, we were very good informed with the transfer in Lombok due to the jetty on Gili air was under construction. However, we are not very pleased about the trip back from Gili air to Padang Bai. We were an hour late, and out of the blue, we were 1. going to Nusa to pick up a "one-day-trip" team, and 2. the boat could not sail into Padang Bai, because of low water, and the boat was therefor to big to sail into the harbour. This information came far to late, and first when we were already an hour late. We had a driver sitting and waiting in Padang Bai at the expected time arrival, and now we would boat in Benoa first, where we then could have ask our driver to go to, if we had the information about Padang Bai. The trip however was very safe and secure, and with the big waves there was on the trip back, it was noce to sit in the big boat. But with the big boat there comes a lot of issues sailing in to the small islands and also the low water of course as we learned.

Traveling with two young children I was not convinced by the recommended fast boat companies. At one point I planned to fly to Lombok from Bali however the flight times were too late. I only heard about Patagonia the day before through a friend who was also travelling to gili islands. I'm so pleased we booked wifh Patagonia. Our experience was much better than expected. The boarding was very quick, the staff very friendly and efficient and the safety procedures were very clear. The boat was very clean (including the toilets). Additional touches such as antisickness lablets (for adults & kids) as well as a movie showing were much appreciated. The cost was also nearly half of what another company quoted me online. The crossing time may be slightly longer, however compared with safety & a smoother ride I'd choose Patagonia every time. The only area for improvement is raising awareness of Patagonia. I felt I'd done a lot of research, however had not found out about Patagonia from the Internet. However when we arrived at our hotel they had a flyer which they said had been delivered that day. So maybe slowly people are learning more. I wish Patagonia lots of luck for the future.

The information you get about getting transferred to another boat company is very poor. We did like the boat of Patagonia on our way back to Bali.

First of all I was slightly frightened about the Trip because of all the horror-stories I read before but there was absolutely no need to. Of course it is rumbling a little bit because of the waves but all in all I felt safe during the whole trip. After the captain told me the motor is from MAN and the turbines are from a Swedish company (forgot the name) I knew that I'm on the right fastboat :)

Terrible service, no assistance, path and time changed on both trips. On the way To Gilli we were suposed to leave from Padang Bay, but we had to wake up 2h earlier to get to Benoa Harbor, with no further explanation. If that wasn't enough the boat had to do an unscheduled stop at Lebongahn, it stoped there for almost a hour, and delayed to arrive to Gilli.

The staff were lovely and professional. The only thing to make better is the time keeping. We waited in Lombok for nearly 1 hour which made us delayed. Would still use the boat again though.

Boat was great - very new and comfortable. Only negative was the TV was very loud for one of the movies. The driver was on time for pick up but wasn’t planning on us being in his van, was expecting another driver for our group. He waited with us - for quite a while - and eventually we all went in his van with the other group (there was easily room). It was confusing but I’m very pleased he waited until there was a resolution rather than leaving us on our own. The reason why I’ve only rated 3* is that the boat DID NOT STOP AT GILI AIR! We were taken on to Bangsal and put on what turned out to be a very overloaded local outrigger boat - max people capacity PLUS some really big bags. It nearly tipped over, lucky the weather and sea was very calm. This added extra time to our trip and I’m certain was known by Patagonia in advance. But it was not communicated anywhere. I would not have booked had I known it would take that long.

Not what is written on the label. Overall I wouldn't discourage others from using as the boat is large and well equipped and is much less crowded than others. There where however multiple frustrations. Firstly we where told that the vessel couldn't berth at gili air so we had to jump in an extremely old local boat which was hastily organised. Furthermore on the return journey the stop at Padang Bai was cancelled due to their not being enough depth to dock. Strange for a vessel that draws less than 1m draft. However the biggest frustration was an 'unscheduled' stop at Lembonghan island to pick up daytrippers. The company should seriously advertise this as it added a furrier 1 hour to the journey and we where just waiting 30 mins for the daytrippers to arrive. Again poor organisation. So to get from Gili Air to Ubud it took more than 8 hours which is ludicrous. Don't expect European travel.

Rough sea and VERY uncomfortable crossing. The boat was going at full speed 35km/hour all the time except for a few seconds each time we were slammed down. Once we were slammed down the power went for a moment. I suggest reducing the speed slightly when the sea is so rough.

I had traveled with Patagonia express last month. I loved the quality of service, the size and comfort of the boat. But my favorite part was how fast and direct it was to and from the Gili's. However a month later the itinerary has completely changed. It took us forever to make it back to Benoa with a stop at Padang Bai AND THEN Nusa Lembongan. Not to mentioned that we were never informed of a boat transfer in Lombok. During the boat ride our drinks prices would change from one stewart to another. When we finally made it back I went to the counter to retrieve the car keys I was asked to leave there. It would have been fine if the keys were there. But for some reason someone busy unloading the boat had the keys with him. After a long ride all I wanted was to go home. But no I was told to wait with no one really caring that it took 15 min to give my keys back.

So with the experience from the journey forth I was expecting an entertaining return trip. Yes! I got an email that everything was fine however …the boat could not depart from the central harbour of Gili Air due to people working at the central jetty. There was supposed to be a barge that hindered to docking of the Patagonia boat. Of course that is beyond Patagonia control. Anyway, we were supposed to be at the central harbour 2 hours ahead because we would be shipped by a smaller boat to another island. At least so I was informed by the Patagonia head office. When I arrived at the Gili central harbour there was no barge…. There was no small boat to take us to another island. There was actual information. Like my previous review the guys from the Patagonia head office were ill informed. Either way, after some hours waiting the boat did arrive and moored at the Gili air central jetty. The journey back was as expected and the boat they used was performing as expected. Would I recommend them, well yes. The boat was comfortable and fast but they really need on their internal and external communication.

To start of with: Patagonia needs to seriously work on their (internal) communication. The evening before departure I got an email that due to a technical issue the boat could not depart from Benoa harbour. I would be transferred to another ferry company (Eka Jaya) in Pandang Harbour. Pandang is on the other side of the island. Well ok technical issues can happen of course. So they promised me a driver but I had to be at Bintang supermarket in Seminyak at 10am. When the clock sounded 10 am there was still no driver and after numerous attempts to call the Patagonia office -none of their numbers answered my phone- I tried WhatsApp. The contact via WhatsApp was a bit stiff to say the least. Irrelevant questions and only answering after numerous times asking for an update. Eventually the person on the other side was not aware of any arrangements. Was not aware of much else either so it felt. Also did not not want to make him or herself known which I experienced as rather rude. No updates form the company and no driver appeared so I needed to make arrangements to get to the other side of the island or miss the ferry. Not an easy thing with the congested streets in Kuta/Seminyak area so stress levels rose. I arrived just in the nick of time. During this time I also got irrelevant emails from the Patagonia office to please not be late. Really! If not for the effort of Kadak at the Pandang Harbour office I would have given a zero star rating for this company/ journey. Kadak also made sure I got the extra taxi ride refunded and arranged for a breakfast voucher to compensate for the trouble. He was also annoyed by the way the headofffice was acting and was himself too having trouble reaching the office. The office people really need to work on their internal and external communication. Set aside the big hectic when boarding, the other company that was looking after the transfer, Eka Jaya, performed as expected.

I would like to give one star, but that wouldnt be fare. Our ride was cancelled because of a technical issue. They offered refund or ride with another company. Ride with another company would have ment about same time pickup and waiting three hours in harbour. No alternatives. Of course we couldnt agree. Talking with customer service was at least tricky, with english. Well we got refund at least.

We learned last minute that the boat could not go to Gili Air and when we arrived in Lombok we stayed 45 min under the sun, no shadow, and worst no help to carry our luggage to the little boat taking us to Gili Air... once arrives there your people disappeared and we had no help again to unload our luggage from the boat... On th me return trip we received an email telling us that because of low tide the departure from Benoa will be a hour later... But how can we know that affects our return trip?! So we called at your office at Gili Air and they told us to come at 11:30 when finally we boarded at 13:00... and there same thing they did not helped us to carry in our luggage on the small boat and to carry it out waiting for you ship... A better communication would have helped and a little bit of goodwilllng from your team between Gili Air/Lombok would have been much appreciated...

Well...I cannot review the experience on board of Patagonia since we never got to take the boat, as the company cancelled the trip because the engine of the boat was damaged. The service is the WORST I've ever seen as they sent us an e-mail only the night before informing us about the cancellation of the boat...at least they offered the option of asking for the full refund, which I am still waiting.

The boat trip went very well. it's a modern boat and the trip is fast, big compliments also to the staff on board. One thing to improve (if this is possible for you): when arriving in Padang Bai the harbour was loaded with locals that wanted to sell their goods (this was on the wooden part where everybody walked of the boat). This was quite annoying. I think it would be better if these people are on the concrete deck after all passengers got of the boat safe and with their baggage.

We were travelling to Gili T. We got to the departure point to find out that the boat had broken down, which was a worry as they only had one boat. But they had organised another one but we had to wait an extra three hours. They gave us credit vouchers to use at a local restaurant for the inconvenience which was quite generous. At the time we were quite concerned that it was going to be small boat and a bad trip but a boat of comparable size was used and we had a good trip. On the return trip their boat was working which was larger than the one that took us over, A/C was good movies were played during the whole trip and the ride was good and very comfortable they even had refreshments on sale. Although things got off to a shaky start the company looked after everyone very well and the boat is very good, we highly recommend them would definitely go again.

Due to issues with the boat it never arrived, we had to get another boat back. We had pre-purchased a ticket to Benoa Harbour however due to the tide the replacement boat only went to Padang Bai so we had to get a shuttle from Padang Bai to Seminyak which was about an hour and a half by car.

We booked Patagonia back from Gili Air after having booked the boat over from Pandang Bai to Gili T. Coming over was great, we were picked up from Coco supermarket on time. The transport was new and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient at the harbour and the journey over was smooth. The boat was slightly delayed coming back from Gili Air, however it was only a delay of 30 minutes. The weather wasn't as good on the journey back and our only complaint was that the captain was going too fast we think to make up for the delay. Therefore the journey was quite uncomfortable at points. Overall I would certainly recommend Patagonia, it was much more comfortable travelling on a larger boat and they were very well organised on both our trips. The staff who I contacted online and through facebook were also excellent and helped us arrange our trips. This was much appreciated.

I took the boat from Bali to Gili T which was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. However my return trip was cancelled at 7pm the evening before I was due to return to Bali. I was instructed to go to the office before 10am and alternative transportation would be arranged for me. I arrived at the office at 9am and waited until 10.30am and no one arrived. Due to this I ended up using another boat operator to return and asked for a refund.

The Patagonia Xpress boat was out of order on the day. The Patagonia staff on Gili Air were helpful and got us on another boat. We were put in the Wahana Gili Ocean, which is a somewhat smaller boat with no Aircon and only went to Padang Bai, where we had to face an onslaught of taxi drivers to get to the correct shuttle bus to take us to Seminyak. The Patagonia staff were helpful throughout, but the quality of the replacement was lacking.

We booked Patagonia Express from Benoa to Gili T return as we wanted to travel in comfort. Our trip from Benoa to GT was very comfortable and we cannot fault the staff at the Benoa office or aboard the vessel. Unfortunately the vessel was cancelled for the return trip so we were moved to another operators vessel. Patagonia staff at Gili T were apologetic and attentive to ensure that we felt we were being looked after. The substitute vessel only went to Padang Bai, was smaller, not air-conditioned and leaked badly so we were very wet for the 21/2 hour trip. Stuffy and very uncomfortable. Upon arrival at Padang Bai we were met by the Patagonia Express staff and they ensured that we were shown to awaiting transport and taken to our villa in Sanur. The return trip certainly made us appreciate the extra comfort of the Patagonia. We have read many reviews of people complaining about the service when bookings go wrong. I think that Patagonia management must be taking note of the negative reviews and seriously trying to do better. We understand that breakdowns happen, how a company manages those times is what can make them successful. On this occasion we were very happy with how the change was managed. Congratulations Patagonia Express and we wish your company great success and no breakdowns. We will definitely book with you again.

Laure+ Adil (16 sept 2017) Tout d'abord, il faut dire et redire que l'expérience que l'on a de la traversée Bali- Gili dépend très largement des conditions météo maritime: le détroit de Lombok, par où passe principalement le courant indonésien ( océan pacifique/océan indien) peut être agité par des courants très puissants. Quelle que soit la compagnie, on est sur une mer calme ou déchaînée selon les jours. Ceci étant, mieux vaut se sentir confortable et en confiance. A cet égard, nous avons été entièrement satisfaits: la description du site est très fidèle: c'est bien le plus récent, le plus grand, le plus confortable de tous les bateaux assurant cette liaison, sièges confortables, climatisation impeccable , possibilité d'être sur le pont supérieur pour les plus jeunes et aventureux.Un staff très pro permettant un embarquement débarquement calme et organisé, bref mérite 5 étoiles. Pourquoi 4 seulement, donc? A cause d'une organisation calamiteuse pour le pick up à Ubud : la compagnie (qui impose un lieu unique de RV alors que toutes les autres compagnies ramassent dans les hôtels) avait mal calculé le nombre de passagers et 4 places manquaient. Il a fallu faire venir un 3ème bus dont nous ne savions s'il existait ou pas puisqu'on nous annonçait faussement son arrivée toutes les 15 mn et que les chauffeurs ne parlent que leur propre langue, ce qui est bien normal .... Ce qui fait que convoqués à 7H, nous sommes enfin partis vers 9h15 passablement énervés, et arrivés à Padang Bay à 10h 15.Le bateau avait heureusement attendu. Mais vraiment dommage de donner une image de désorganisation à 25 personnes qui auraient eu une mauvaise impression de la compagnie si ce n'avait été le déroulement parfait de la traversée. J'ajoute que le rapport qualité prix est excellent si l'on achète en ligne, ce qui fonctionne parfaitement. Donc, les 5 étoiles pour la prochaine fois?

We really enjoyed our first trip with Patagonia out to Gili T but we did not enjoy the trip from Gili Air to Benoa at all. We understood that the seas were quite rough but we felt as if the driver was going way too fast as the boat was rocking all over the place. At one point I thought it was going to capsize. A lot of the passengers looked ill and it definitely wasn't safe to walk on the top deck.

Nice big, new clean Boat that seems to always be on time. We traveled twice with Patagonia express and we're very happy both times! The boat is very clean and comfortable and you can even ride on the rooftop of the weather is good. Do not book other company's as we saw their boats are small, old and look unsafe. If there is any wind on the ocean and the weather conditions are a little rough you will regret a small boat! You get what you pay for andnpatagonia was perfect!

Going to the Gili's is now so much easier. I live in Bali and love going away to the Gili's. But it used to be such a hassle to drive (get a uber to) Padang Bai, negotiate a boat ticket, wait a super long time by an uncomfortable dock before boarding some sketchy boat (they are not all sketchy but most are). Now with Patagonia you get received well. If you come with your vehicle like I did, they will take care of it for you while you are away. They dock at Benoa harbor which is very central and easy access. The boat is brand new, with all comfort and safety expected. It made my whole experience painless and fun. Pros: Safe ride, good service with smiles Cons: going to Gili was short and quick 1.5 hours, coming back took 3.5 hours as they stop at 2 islands the opposite way. bring your own food, only water/beer on the boat and chips

Due to some bad reviwes we were not sure to choose Patagonia Xpress, but after using their services, I recommend it. They are professional and the boat seems to be the safest option comparing to others. The only thing to take into account is that it might be possible that the boat does not stop in Padang Bai when low tide. There was people to whom they said that the boat would stop in Padang Bai and finally it did not and they were instead taken by car from Benoa to Padang Bai. I think that the company should be clearer when is and not possible to stop in Padang Bai because ties should be predictable.

The Patagonia Express was great, can't fault it. I admit we were a bit nervous after reading reviews saying there were delays on their journeys but ours was fine. Picked us up from Ubud at 07:00 to take us to Padang Bai which was great. The boat did leave 30 minutes late but this didn't affect our arrival time at Gili T, it was so fast. Smooth journey and staff were good with getting luggage on and off the boat as quickly as possible (we found that the company we travelled back with hadn't got the hang of this yet).

We travelled with Patagonia Xpress for our return trip from Gili T to Benoa Harbour (Bali). Everything was perfect. The boat was in Gili T and Benoa on time and the staff was lovely. 2 weeks before, we travelled with a speed boat company and it was absolutely awful (both in terms of security and level of service). I highly recommend Patagonia Xpress which is probably the best company to reach either Gili islands or Lombok. Thanks again.

Departure time said 0900. We get there it's 1000. Coming back from Gili T we are lucky that we arrived early at check in as our ticket said departure at 1600! Boat was gone at 1200. No phone call or email to tell me about the change. I had complaining but what if I had a flight to catch.

If you feel sea sick, they take care after you. + I would always choose Patagonia Express - Communication: The boat did not go to Padangbai due to the weather (high waves). There was no clear communication about that. For us it didn't matter since we were travelling to Benoa but other customers who were going to Pandangbai were not informed well.

Bookings, reservation, boat itself all fine. Not the cheapest but a big solid boat. And that was necessary on my trip. They did their best. It was just a rough ride because of the weather/ waves. Crew were running around with napkins and motion sickness syrup as half of the passengers were throwing up. Very attentive and kind. They can improve on communication though. Clearly telling all passengers up front that we cannot go to Padang Bai due to adverse weather would have helped. That we can only go to Benoa and you (Patagonia) indeed understand that this is undesired but bad weather is not controlled by you. Tell people up front so they can decide to try and stay on Gili. People will still moan but if every passenger gets the same story from all staff then that helps acceptance in such situations. They arranged transport for us to our hotel in Ubud. So well done. Happy to use Patagonia again next time!

Best ride! We truly are happy we chose Patagonia - clean boat, no bad smell, big boat, free water was handed out, excellent service from staff, even airconditioning & movies. We were so happy. Even with many people being see sick they did great. Unfortunately the shuttle service was messy because we didnt receive a ticket and our name was not listed so they treated us like we had no shuttle. Additionally, our boat was taken to another harbour and we said "its your problem - organise free shuttle to original destination atleast". We had to argue a bit but then they solved it. Thanks for a great ride.

Boat was over an hour late and did not bring us to gili air but droped us off at Lombok because they were behind on schedule. We had to take another boat to gili air and artived three hours later than was promissed in advance. Not good!

We arrived at Benoa Harbour instead if padang bai, but we were not informed about in advance. More Information during the travel would have been good to have. It would be much better to start earlier from padang bai in order to avoid to travel in the afternoon when the waters are so rough!

The boat was 1 hour late arriving to collect us from Gili T and 2 hours late arriving into Benoa harbour. Also, we had to fight for the transfer promised online upon booking - if it needs to be booked in detail you should provide a space for this to happen. Condition of the boat was good.

Our trip from Gili T to Benoa was great, the bigger boat offered by Patagonia makes very a pretty pleasant journey. I don't think me and my girlfriend could have managed any of the smaller boats we saw as we boarded on the beach. Apart from a few delays dropping passengers off at Pandangbai and Lombok the journey was drama free and hotel drop off was even included. I would highly recommend Patagonia.

We were so happy to chose Patagonia Xpress for our trip to the Gili Islands. We heard lots of bad stories of people going on the small fast boats: bad sea conditions, people sick, no ventilation.... We felt super comfortable during all the trip. We highly recommend it to everybody! It might be a bit more expensive than the other ones, but it's definitely super worth it! Don't think it twice! It was a great experience. The service on board was very good, we didn't have to take care of our lugage, everything was done by the personel. Also the drop off was very good organised, the car was waiting for us as soon as we arrived in Padang Bay. Thank you for the great service Patagonia Xpress.

Our speedboat was cancelled due to weather conditions. Patagonia made it easier to get us on a ferry as we had a flight to catch the next day. The service was great going to the ferry, staff were with us until the ferry. The only thing that gives this rating a 3 star was the lack of customer service when we got to Padang Bai. Our ferry took forever to dock and it was late not to mention our Patagonia group was split between two ferries as we didn't know we had to be on a specific one. When we landed in Padang we were told our driver left since we were late. The guy helping us told us we had to pay extra for s ride to our hotel (even though Patagonia said that there was no additional charge). He made it seem like it was our fault we didn't get on the right ferry or the fact that we were late and in the end we had to take a taxi costing us more money. It was 1 am and to leave 4 girls at a pier without a ride because it was "our fault" the ferry was late is absolutely ridiculous and unsafe. Thank god for the other taxi drivers at the pier who were way more accommodating and willing to help than the Patagonia staff who just buggered off. Hope this improves next time!

The vessel and crew are great, as they were on the trip to Gili. Only reason I rate this trip slightly less favourable is that the return trip involved quite a bit of waiting. We left a bit too late. Then had to wait before birthing at Gili Air. And then again before birthing at Lombok. But this is the itinerary and not a big problem if you are prepard for it. From all I have seen Patagonia is by far the best fast boat service to and from the Gilis. Much better service for the same price as many others and much cheaper than the premium operators.

The boat is large and brand new. Facilities fully up to spec. Upper deck is nice when the sea is calm but the seats in the air conditioned cabin are very comfy. Staff seem to know what they are doing and voluntarily help bringing luggage on and off the vessel. The journey is fast and the boat stable. From what I have observed this is by far the best fast boat connection.
